MAP Lab
Tsinghua University
Welcome to the MAP Lab

At the Medical Acoustics and Photonics (MAP) Lab, we use engineering to create new ways of looking inside the human body (brain). Our work combines electronics, sound, light, sensors, and algorithms to build advanced imaging tools like photoacoustic tomography, ultrafast ultrasound, and multimodal imaging systems.
These technologies let us see deeper, faster, and with more detail—especially in areas like brain imaging, cardiovascular health, and cancer detection. We’re not just doing this for research—we want our work to make a real difference in hospitals and clinics.
If you’re a student interested in biomedical imaging, signal processing, hardware development, or healthcare innovation, there’s a place for you here. We’re a hands-on, collaborative lab where engineering meets medicine to solve real-world problems.
